Round Barn Love {Come on Along}

Over the 4th of July holiday I was lucky enough to visit a really neat place I've wanted to visit for a while ~ the Round Barn Winery, Brewery and Distillery in Baroda, MI (otherwise known as the Baroda Tasting Room and Estate).  It was just a hop, skip and a jump away from where we were staying on Lake Michigan.  And they serve beer!

Before children, or "B.C." as I like to call it, Mr. CBD and I used to make our own beer.  Now we visit breweries.  Nuff said.   Anyway, it was their Reds, Whites and Brews festival so it seemed like a great time to visit.  And I have been loving their big, white, round barn for some time.  I mean, how cool is that?

Call me a weirdo, but I thought this place was really cool!

It's set back from a quiet country road, surrounded by grape vineyards, so we were surprised when we turned into the place and around the bend there was a big ol' shindig going on!  There was live music, food, alcohol {natch} and people dancing!

It was a perfect summer day.

Looks like the food was pretty good.

First I had to see the inside of the big old round white barn, despite the fact that we don't drink wine and that's where all the wine tasting was going on.  I mean, come on, wouldn't you?

This is the sign that greets you upon entering the round barn.  Don't you just love the saying?  Then you turn and head up these incredibly beautifully wrap-around stairs.

Here's the view going down.  Pretty amazing.

Now for the top of the roof.

Is that an awesome view or what?  Even the windows in this place were pretty neat.

Here's the back side of the round barn.  Next stop, Beer Barn!

Pretty little pond alongside the entrance to the Beer Barn.

House Rules and Now on Tap info.  Anyone up for a "Bob's Your Uncle" beer?

Inside the beer barn was a nice tap room with a colorful list of microbrews on tap.  We went with the Indecision Ale and the Summer Wheat.  They were both yummy, too bad they didn't last very long!

We did get to bring our glasses home, though.

And there she is again.

If you're ever in the area I recommend it highly. There are other annual events worth checking out, too.  They also run the Union Pier Tasting Room in Union Pier, MI and it looks like they'll also be opening the Round Barn Brewery and Pub at 9151 First Street in Baroda sometime soon.  Be sure to check their website for details.

I'm just trying to get caught up after being away for the 4th.  I can't believe how fast the summer is whizzing by!  Do you feel that way, too?  What fun travels do you have planned?

Hi Kathy, That barn is AWESOME! Hubby and I don't drink at all but hat barn might make it worth the visit! The summer is flying, and so are the mosquitoes...yikes!
Take care my friend and enjoy! Love, Penny

Definitely my kind of place. I love that barn and the sign on the front...I'd be slamming on my brakes for that!! The micro brew names are just too funny. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
