Chocolate Covered Strawberries in 3 {Very} Easy Steps

July 31, 2014

Today I'm sharing how to make chocolate covered strawberries in -- of all things -- ice cube trays -- in 3 very easy steps.

Chocolate and strawberries. I mean, what's not to like? Hot summer days call for cool treats. While I have a more elaborate recipe for chocolate covered strawberries that I've used over the years for get-togethers, I came across this easy peasy way to make them on Pinterest.

(As you may or may not know, I've been having my kids pick their favorite foods from my "Fun Foods" Pinterest board.  We then go and get the ingredients together and make the recipe together.  The first recipe, chosen by my daughter, was a big hit.

My homemade whoopie pie recipe is one of the best.

Most recently, it was my son's turn to choose. And he chose chocolate covered strawberries. Here's what you need to know:

1. Fill an ice cube tray with melted chocolate.
(I used chocolate chips melted in the microwave.)

2. Put a strawberry in each cube compartment
(halve them if they're too big.)

3. Refrigerate until the chocolate hardens.

Done!

Here are my strawberries pre-dunking.

Here's how it looked after I poured in the chocolate and placed a strawberry in it.

And here are the finished products!

Just keep them in the fridge, and pop one out when the mood strikes.
(Which is quite often in my house.) They're not as fancy as my white chocolate-drizzled gourmet chocolate covered strawberries, but they'll do just fine, thank you. And best of all, we made them together.

Well, that's it for today, friends!

If you have a minute to spare I’d be thrilled if you could share your post at my weekly Say G’Day Saturday linky party. It has just started and this would be a fabulous addition.

Best wishes for a great weekend.
